What is the Show's Story?

 

This science-fiction horror series is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s. A group of friends becomes embroiled in a conspiracy involving supernatural forces and secret government experiments. The story begins when a young boy named Will Byers disappears after a portal to another dimension called the "Upside Down" opens in a nearby lab. As the town searches for Will, his friends team up with a mysterious girl named Eleven, who possesses psychokinetic powers, to find him. The events that unfold involve monsters, government cover-ups, and a fight to save their town and the world from the forces of the Upside Down.
