The lockdown continues across the country due to the Corona virus. Due to the lockdown, migrant laborers and students are stranded in different parts of the country. But meanwhile, the biggest news is that the railway has opened the first special train for the workers trapped in the lockdown. The first special train from Telangana to Jharkhand with 1200 workers trapped in lockdown left today i.e. on Friday. Let it be said that this is no less than a big relief for the workers trapped in the lockdown. However, no decision has been taken on how many more such trains will run next.
Director General of Railway Protection Force Arun Kumar told Hindustan Times that there are about 1200 migrants in 24 coaches of this special train opened from Telangana. A decision will be taken today on whether more trains will run. He told that the train opened today at 4:50 am from Lingarapalli in Telangana, which is going to Hatia in Jharkhand.
In fact, there is constant pressure on the central government by the states to return home to laborers and students trapped in the lockdown. States like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Bihar have demanded special trains to run from the center. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday urged the central government to run special trains to bring back its migrants.
Sushil Modi tweeted on Thursday, "I appeal to the Indian government to return home to migrants by special train". Apart from this, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the return of migrants home.
At the same time, on Wednesday, the Government of India issued an order to facilitate interstate travel to evacuate people trapped in the states / union territories. After the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the way for the trapped laborers, students, tourists and patients etc. in different parts of the country to go to their respective homes has been cleared, but they will not be able to go by themselves, but the Central Government has given the states and The Union Territories have been allowed to carry people.
