The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that an earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Vijayapura district of Karnataka on Friday morning.
According to data shared by NCS, earthquake tremors were felt in the area at 6:52 am on Friday.
In a post on Twitter, the National Center for Seismology said, Earthquake intensity: 3.1, 8-12-2023, 06:52:21 IST, Latitude: 16.77 and Longitude: 75.87, Depth: 10 km, Location: Vijayapura, Karnataka. Was."
The NCS said the epicenter was located at 16.77 latitude and 75.87 longitude and the tremors occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Giving information on X, the National Seismological Center said that an earthquake of 3.2 magnitude had occurred in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu at around 7:39 am.
