Four people have lost their lives in the heavy rains in Odisha for the last two days. At the same time, more than 20 lakh people have been affected by it. All national highways and state highways connecting Junagadh, Porbandar, and Gir Somnath have been closed due to waterlogging following heavy rains. Most of the rain in Gujarat is being seen in the Saurashtra region. The condition of Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, and Junagadh districts is dire. Saurashtra is said to be an area where rainfall is less, but this time it rained record-breaking.

At the same time, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Jamnagar from Rajkot and interacted with the men and women of the most affected Ghunav village of Jamnagar. The Chief Minister enquired about the damage caused to the people and the trouble caused by the heavy rains and directed the officials to expedite the relief and rescue work. The Chief Minister said that no affected person would be left without assistance. The government stands by them in this difficult time and will provide them all possible help.

 

A Navy team, which left for Rajkot in Gujarat from INS Sardar Patel on September 13, conducted a diving operation for over ten hours yesterday to rescue the car and recover the body of a rider, the Indian Navy said. The search for the second rider is on.

 

Apart from this, now teams are working in Bihar and UP. The water level of the river is receding in many parts of UP, including Sant Kabir Nagar. Teams are engaged in rescue work in flood-affected areas including Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

Meteorologists have also warned people about floods in low-lying areas due to the rise in the water level of rivers.
