The Congress targeted the BJP after Foxconn decided to exit. Congress said that whether it is the Gujarat model or New India, one should never trust the headlines created.

Congress accused

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted remembering the hype around the time the project was announced. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had claimed that one lakh jobs would be created. This has been the fate of several MoUs signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. Jayaram said in the next tweet that Foxconn-Vedanta are closed. Micron is still operational for semiconductor chip assembly, packaging, and testing. Ramesh says Micron is paying only 30 percent of the US$2.75 billion. The remaining 50 percent is being given by the Center and 20 percent by the Gujarat government. This is a huge subsidy.

Foxconn said – will not pursue a joint venture with Vedanta

Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) said, "Foxconn has no affiliation with this entity, and attempts to retain its original name will confuse future stakeholders." Global contract-based electronics maker Foxconn and Vedanta last year signed an agreement to set up semiconductor and display manufacturing plants in Gujarat with an investment of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore. In a statement on Monday, Foxconn said, "As per the mutual agreement to explore more diversified growth opportunities, Foxconn has decided not to pursue the joint venture with Vedanta.

Support to Make in India campaign will continue: Foxconn

For more than a year, Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) and Vedanta have worked hard to bring the idea of semiconductor manufacturing in India to reality, the statement said. It has been a useful experience that will strengthen both companies going forward. The company said, "Foxconn is confident of the growth potential of the semiconductor sector in India. We will continue to strongly support the government's 'Make in India' campaign and partner with diverse local partners to meet the needs of stakeholders." Will keep working with."
