New Delhi: The country is currently fighting a decisive battle against the corona virus. To defeat Corona, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has put a lockdown in the entire country till May 17. The entire country has come to a standstill due to the lockdown. Economic activity has also taken a break. However, in many cases, exemption has also been given by the government in Lockdown 3.0, so that the economy can get some momentum. Meanwhile, the Narendra Modi government of the Center is preparing to give a big gift to the employees who get less than 30 thousand salary.
It is reported that the Central Government is preparing to increase the scope of the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme. According to CNBC, the central government is preparing this decision to increase the scope of ESI to give medical and cash benefits to the employees receiving less salary.
According to the news, the Ministry of Labor has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Finance. In that proposal, there has been a demand to increase the salary limit from 21 thousand to 30 thousand. If the scope of salary is increased, then it will continue to provide whatever benefits the employees get from ESI and this will reduce the burden on companies.
It is known that at present, such employees are coming under ESI, whose salary is less than 21 thousand. Apart from this, a company comes under the purview of ESI in which at least 10 employees work. Significantly, in 2017, the limit of ESI was increased from 15 thousand to 21 thousand, which benefited many employees.
It is reported that ESI has announced that due to the lockdown, all the companies which have not been able to collect the contribution of employees, will continue to get all the medical facilities. Apart from this, those whose card validity has also expired, they can also take advantage of ESI.
Apart from all this, ESI has made a big announcement that now during lockdown, if beneficiaries take any medicine from outside, then they can also claim it. Also, ESI has tied up with several hospitals to provide medical facilities to the employees. Employees will be able to get treatment easily in these hospitals too.
Significantly, in view of the increasing infection of the corona virus, a lockdown has been imposed in the country till May 17. At present, 49391 people have been infected with Corona and 1694 people have also died. Good thing that 14183 people in the country have also recovered from Corona.
