Who is Draupadi Murmu

Draupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Father's name is Biranchi Narayan Tudu. She belongs to a tribal Santhal family. Draupadi Murmu was married to Shyam Charan Murmu. She had two sons and a daughter, but she lost her husband and her two sons shortly after their marriage.
However, Draupadi never gave up on difficulties and overcame all odds, she graduated with a degree in Arts from Ramadevi Mahila College, Bhubaneswar.
He then got a job as a Junior Assistant, i.e. Clerk, in the Irrigation and Electricity Department of the Government of Odisha. Later, he also worked as an Honorary Assistant Teacher at Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Center in Rairangpur. His daughter Itishree is married to Ganesh Hembram.
Started his political career as a councilor
Draupadi Murmu started her political career in 1997 as a councilor in Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat, Odisha, and then in 2000, she became a minister in the Odisha government.
Draupadi Murmu, a two-time MLA from Rairangpur, still won her assembly seat in 2009, when the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) broke ties with the BJP a few weeks before the Odisha elections. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's party BJD had won that election.
