Former TMC leader Dinesh Trivedi, who resigned from the Rajya Sabha last week, has targeted electoral strategist Prashant Kishore and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee, among the reasons for leaving the Trinamool Congress. While Dinesh Trivedi alleged that violence and corruption in today's Bengal has increased a hundred times more than the Left Raj, he also said that the Trinamool Congress had taken over his Twitter account and Tweets with abusive language were used.
Responding to a question about Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee during a special conversation with Hindustan Times, Trivedi said that he uses very vulgar language which is not in keeping with the culture. Regarding the promotion of Abhishek by Mamta Banerjee, Trivedi said that now is the time when we should get out of familyism. For this, he praised BJP and Left parties, saying that no 'brother-nephew' is seen in the top leadership of these parties. He called the nepotism a sign of rudeness. Referring to Abhishek, he said that whether Abhishek or anyone else should not use a helicopter to go to their constituency, Abhishek Banerjee was a child when we were struggling in politics. However, he also described Abhishek as having sharp intellect.
Regarding the abusive language of Abhishek Banerjee, Dinesh Trivedi also said that since the Prime Minister is Gujarati, it is not necessary to use offensive language for all Gujaratis.
Targeting election strategist Prashant Kishore, Dinesh Trivedi said that the PK team has passwords for the social media accounts of Trinamool leaders but many times I have seen many times tweeting abusive language for Prime Minister and Governor from the account. Trivedi said that he not only raised questions on these tweets but also had to delete the tweets many times. Dinesh Trivedi expressed strong displeasure over the hiring of Prashant Kishore, saying that it is quite shameful that an employee of the company hired by giving crores of rupees to those who set up the party with blood and sweat tells what to do, How to speak at rallies.
He said that if I used to tell Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee after the speech in Parliament that I did not speak abusive words to the Prime Minister, did not speak well to the Home Minister, is this our job?
Recalling the old days, Trivedi said that when Mamata Banerjee fought the Left parties on her own, she had only two general secretaries… Mukul Roy and me. He further said that everyone is aware of the problem but no one dares to say that the biggest enemies in today's date are 'sycophants'.
On the question of giving credit to Prashant Kishore for the BJP's big win in 2014, Dinesh Trivedi said that strategists may have their role but that does not mean that you can pledge yourself and the party in front of it. They cannot decide the party's strategy.
On the possibility of joining the BJP in the future, he said that joining BJP will be a matter of good fortune. BJP is the number one party in the world. However, he also said that everyone from Sitaram Yechury to Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray are his friends and he has also met Sharad Pawar after his resignation.
On the question of whether or not to talk to PM Modi after his resignation, Dinesh Trivedi said that I do not have to wait for talks with him. At least he listens but there was no one to listen here.
