Nature's havoc continues in Himachal Pradesh. Incidents of landslides and cloudbursts are being reported in various districts, due to which life is completely disrupted. People are not seeing any chance of getting relief. At the same time, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in many places in the state.
Chance of heavy rain today
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in the state. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some districts. Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Mandi, Kullu, Una, Bilaspur and Kangra districts. A yellow alert has been issued for 24 and 25 August.
Where did it rain
At the same time, light to moderate rains were recorded in most areas of the state in the last 24 hours. Joginder Nagar recorded 154 mm of rain, Palampur 136 mm, and Sirmaur 70 mm. Shimla city has recorded 80 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Relief will be available after August 26
Meteorological Department official Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that after August 26, the state will get some relief. He said that from August 26 the weather would change. Light to moderate rain will occur in the districts of plains and central areas. Very little rain is predicted from 26 to 30 August. He said that Himachal Pradesh has received 41 percent more rainfall than normal from June to August. Lahaul Spiti has received less rainfall than normal. On the other hand, Shimla has received maximum rainfall of 103%.
