The process of seat allocation in the new Lok Sabha has created a rift in the India Alliance. SP, Trinamool Congress, and DMK, which are part of the alliance, are angry with the Congress. All three parties feel that the Congress, which leads the alliance, did not keep their point in mind in the seat allocation. Due to this resentment, the SP distanced itself from the Congress protest on Thursday.
After Priyanka Gandhi's entry in the Lok Sabha, the SP is angry that Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad was not given a place in the front row. SP sources say that party chief Akhilesh Yadav was not informed about the talks and decisions regarding seat allocation at the appropriate time. Now Akhilesh wants Awadhesh to get a place in the front row. Meanwhile, Dimple Yadav has met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and requested to give Awadhesh Prasad a place in the front row. On the other hand, DMK MP TR Balu, who was sent to the second row, has demanded a front-row seat for himself from the Congress.
Trinamool sources said that since the Congress was leading the alliance, Congress was talked to in the seat allocation process. In the allocation process, Congress, which won 99 seats, got four seats in the front row. SP, Trinamool, and DMK got only one seat each in the front row. Sources said it seems that Congress did not talk to the government properly for its allies. It should have taken care of the seniority of the leaders of the allies.
Dimple said - there is no such thing as resentment.
SP MP Dimple Yadav said on seat allocation that there is no such thing as resentment. The final decision in this matter is of the Speaker. We have presented our side before the Speaker. We have asked him for an additional seat in the front row. I am confident that the Speaker will fulfill our demand.
How is the seating plan?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will sit on the first seat in the Lok Sabha, while on the opposition side, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will sit on the first seat right in front of him. In the seating plan released from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has now been given the fourth seat in the first row next to Home Minister Amit Shah. Earlier, he used to sit on seat number 58 in the second column. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will sit on the second seat next to the Prime Minister.
SP President Akhilesh Yadav has been allotted seat number 355 in the front row. Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandopadhyay will sit next to Yadav. His party's Abhishek Banerjee, Kalyan Banerjee, and Saugata Roy have been allotted seats number 280, 281, and 284 respectively in the second row. DMK leaders TR Balu and A Raja have also been allotted front-row seats.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who reached the Lok Sabha for the first time after winning from Wayanad, has got seat number 517 in the fourth row. One seat is vacant in the House since the death of TMC's SK Nurul Islam, MP from Basirhat in West Bengal.
