Case one - Rajendra Kumar, resident of Basharatpur, got an investigation done on the Urban Health Post on 14 April. His RTPCR BRD was sent. On April 21, he received a message to sample again.
Case two - Rehmatnagar resident Zubeer got the investigation done on 15 April. The antigen remained negative. RTPCR sent for investigation. On Wednesday, Jubeir received a message that the sample would have to be given again.
This is the hallmark of two cases. The eclipse on the Corona investigation in the district does not seem to be over. The speed of the investigation has already slowed down due to the shortage of antigen kits. Now 700 samples were damaged due to an outbreak of corona infection in the Department of Microbiology of BRD Medical College. Most of these samples were taken after 14 April. The samples were taken from different government hospitals in the district.
The microbiology department of BRD has a team of 26 employees. In the second wave of Corona, the employees of the department were divided into two teams and worked in two shifts. Covid entered the department on Saturday. Two employees were infected on the first day. The next day on Sunday, 10 workers have become infected. The infected include four computer operators and four lab technicians. There has been a stir since then. The department was sanitized on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The lab was also sterilized. A precautionary inquiry was conducted on the remaining employees on Monday. Four more employees were found infected. After this, all the data entry operators and most lab technicians posted in the department got infected.
The Antigen kit is over
The antigen kit crisis in the district has been there for the last four days. The antigen kit in the hospital of the rural area has been exhausted since Saturday. From Monday, the antigen kit crisis in urban area hospitals started deepening. Antigens were not tested in most hospitals on Wednesday due to kit shortage. Only RTPCR samples have been sent for testing.
The problem has been exacerbated due to the contagion of employees. Work has been affected for three days. Could test 4400 on Wednesday. This has reduced some backlog.
