He said, today Goa has become the first state in the country, which has been water certified in every household. Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have also become Har Ghar Jal Certified Union Territories. For this, I convey my best wishes to the people of Goa and the Chief Minister there. PM Modi said the second achievement is that today 10 crore rural households of the country have been connected with the facility of piped clean water. This is a big success of the government's campaign to deliver water to the house. This is also a great example of everyone's effort.

More than one lakh villages became ODF Plus

The Prime Minister said we had taken a pledge that the villages would be made ODF Plus. The country has also achieved important milestones in this regard. Now more than one lakh villages in different states of the country have become ODF plus.

Water security will be the biggest challenge of the 21st century

Prime Minister Modi said big organizations of the world are saying that the biggest challenge of the 21st century will be water security. That is why our government has been working with this spirit for the last 8 years. Lack of water can also become a hindrance in the fulfillment of the resolve of a developed India. A bigger vision is needed for water, he said. The previous governments used to talk only about water.

It takes hard work to form a government

PM Modi said, to form the government, one does not have to work hard, but to make the country one has to work hard. We all have chosen the path of making the country, so we are constantly solving the present and future challenges of the country. Now the number of Ramsar sites in India has also increased to 75. Out of these, 50 sites have been added in the last 8 years only. He said, India is making all-around efforts for water security and it is getting results in every direction. He said, in the last three years, seven crore rural households have been connected with piped water facilities under Jal Jeevan Mission. In the 7 decades of independence, only 30 million rural households in the country had access to piped water.
