Shilpa Shetty has once again found herself embroiled in a major controversy. While reports surfaced that her Bastian hotel and home in Mumbai were raided by the Income Tax department, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) added Section 420 (cheating) to the case after finding some evidence in the ₹60 crore fraud case.

Raj Kundra has already reacted to the cheating allegations on his social media, denying the accusations against him. Now, actress Shilpa Shetty has finally broken her silence on the 'fraud' allegations, revealing the complete truth for the first time.

Shilpa said she had no authority.

Shilpa Shetty recently spoke openly about the ₹60 crore fraud allegations, saying, "I am deeply saddened that my name is being unnecessarily dragged into this matter. My association with this company was purely non-executive. I had no role in finance, decision-making, or any signing authority.  Like many other celebrities, I only endorsed some products for the home shopping channel, within a professional capacity, for which I haven't even received my payment yet."

She gave a loan of ₹20 crore.

In this statement, Shilpa Shetty also clarified that she herself had given a loan. The actress said, "I want to put on record that as a family, we too had given the company a loan of approximately 20 crore rupees, but that money is also still outstanding. The way I am being targeted with criminal allegations after nine years of unwarranted delay is legally incorrect and against the principles of law.

Despite knowing all the facts, my name is being unnecessarily dragged into these proceedings repeatedly, which is both unfortunate and wrong. Such allegations not only distort the truth but also wrongly damage a woman's dignity, integrity, and reputation in the public domain.

A heartfelt message from a verse of the Bhagavad Gita

Shilpa Shetty expressed her anguish in her statement, saying, "As stated in the Bhagavad Gita, it is your duty to speak out against injustice, and if you fail to do so, it is itself unrighteousness. I have already filed a petition in the Honourable Bombay High Court. I have complete faith in the judicial process and will take legal steps to protect my rights and self-respect. I respectfully request the media to consider these facts and report them responsibly after verifying them."
