India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in their first match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s, and the real hero of this victory was opener Abhishek Sharma. He, along with Shubman Gill, wreaked havoc on the Pakistani bowlers at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday night.

 

Abhishek made his intentions clear by hitting a six off Shaheen Afridi off the very first ball. Although he dropped a crucial catch while fielding, he reached his half-century in 24 balls, setting the record for the fastest fifty against Pakistan in T20Is.

 

Abhishek was very close to reaching 100 runs in the match but was dismissed for 74. He was named Player of the Match. His sister Komal's reaction to his powerful innings is rapidly going viral.

In fact, Abhishek Sharma's family was at the Dubai stadium to watch the India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match. Abhishek played a brilliant innings in front of his family and helped the Indian team defeat Pakistan by 6 wickets.

 

His family was overjoyed by this historic innings. His sister Komal, speaking to news agency PTI after the match, said,

 

"I can't express in words how proud we are. This is our third or fourth time watching the Asia Cup, but today a dream came true. We saw the India-Pakistan match and Abhishek's excellent performance."

 

She (Abhishek Sharma's sister) further said, "He became the man of the match, what more could we ask for? But now we are waiting for his century. I am confident that he will soon score a hundred. The sky is the limit for him."

Regarding the match, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill completely destroyed Pakistan's pace attack. They shared a 105-run partnership for the first wicket, helping India achieve the target of 172.

 

Tilak Verma scored an unbeaten 30 in the match. Abhishek (74) and Shubman Gill (47) helped India win the match in 18.5 overs. During the match, Team India maintained its no-handshake policy and did not shake hands with Pakistani players after the match, despite coach Gambhir ordering the players to shake hands only with the umpire.
