The Kotdwar incident is escalating. Rahul Gandhi has now weighed in on the matter. He tweeted on X, calling Mohammad Deepak a hero. He wrote that Deepak from Uttarakhand is a hero of India. Deepak is fighting for the Constitution and humanity.

For the Constitution that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar are conspiring to trample on every day. He is a living symbol of a shop of love in the market of hatred, and this is what bothers the ruling party the most. The Sangh Parivar is deliberately spreading economic and social poison in the country so that India remains divided and a few people can continue to rule through fear.

The BJP government of Uttarakhand is openly supporting the anti-social elements who are engaged in intimidating and harassing ordinary citizens. No country can progress in an atmosphere of hatred, fear, and anarchy. Development without peace is just an empty slogan. We need more Deepaks, who do not bow down, who do not fear, and who stand firmly with the Constitution. We are with you, brother. Don't be afraid. You are a lion.

After the Bajrang Dal's disturbance, the police administration in Kotdwar is on high alert, conducting flag marches.

The dispute over the name of a clothing shop on Patel Marg in the city has become a headache for the police administration. After the disturbance created by Bajrang Dal workers from Dehradun and Haridwar on Saturday, the police administration is on high alert. For the past two nights, the police have been conducting flag marches. Along with the police administration, the intelligence agencies have also become active. Considering the possibility of people associated with the other side arriving in Kotdwar, every vehicle entering the city at the UP-UK border in Kaudiya is being subjected to intensive checking.

Several police officers from across the district have been called to Kotdwar. Two platoons of PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) have also been deployed. On January 26, there was a heated argument between Bajrang Dal workers from Kotdwar and supporters of the shopkeeper. After a video of the youth accused of assault went viral, angry Bajrang Dal workers from Dehradun and Haridwar reached Kotdwara on Saturday. They created a major disturbance first on Patel Marg and later at Malviya Park. According to the police, an investigation is underway based on the complaints filed by both sides in this matter. Bajrang Dal activists are demanding legal action against the gym owner, who identifies himself as Mohammad Deepak. Following the Bajrang Dal's protest, the police administration is on high alert due to the apprehension that people from other states connected to the other side might arrive in Kotdwar.

Three or four gym owners arrived in Kotdwar to meet the young man

It is reported that on Sunday, three or four gym owners from Haridwar and Dehradun arrived in Kotdwar to meet the young gym owner, Mohammad Deepak. Considering them suspicious, the police brought them to the police station for questioning and later released them. On Sunday, senior police officers summoned the young gym owner to the police station for questioning. Kotwali Police Station In-charge Pradeep Negi said that those who come to Kotdwar from other states and regions to disturb the peace will not be spared.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Uttarakhand demands security for Deepak, writes to DGP

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Uttarakhand has written a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) demanding security for Deepak Kumar in the Kotdwar incident. The letter states that Deepak Kumar intervened during an attack on a Muslim shopkeeper on January 26, saving the shopkeeper's life. Now his life is in danger.

In the letter, Jamiat's state general secretary, Maulana Sharafat Ali Qasmi, said that Deepak Kumar fulfilled his humanitarian and constitutional duty by opposing violence, but he is constantly facing threats. On January 31, a large number of people from Dehradun and Haridwar reached Kotdwar and attempted to vandalize Deepak Kumar's gym. Jamiat said that it is extremely unfortunate that such a citizen, who stood against violence and demonstrated social harmony and humanity, is being targeted. They said that the peaceful image of Devbhoomi (Uttarakhand) is being tarnished. Vice President Mufti Rais Ahmed Qasmi demanded that the DGP identify and take action against those who attempted to vandalize property in Kotdwar.
