Pakistan has reacted to India's statement in which India strongly objected to the exercise of including other countries in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. India had said that the move was illegal and unacceptable. After this, now Pakistan has termed India's statement on this project as baseless and misleading. Pakistan says that India has tried to give political color to the CPEC issue.
In fact, in a statement given by the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, it has been said that the purpose of this project is to bring stability to the region and increase cooperation. It is China's investment in the project that has helped overcome Pakistan's energy and infrastructure barriers. Also, India's recent statement reflects its sense of insecurity and its hegemonic agenda, due to which Asia has been disrupted.
Not only this, while rejecting India's statement about the possibility of including the third country in the economic corridor, Pakistan on the contrary made many false allegations against India itself. Pakistan's statement comes at a time when India has warned that the project passes through illegally occupied Indian territory and such a move would be illegal and unacceptable. India said this when third country participation in the disputed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was being proposed.
India also said that we have seen reports encouraging third countries' proposed participation in so-called CPEC projects. Any such action by either party shall be deemed to be a direct violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India. India will treat it as illegal. Such activities are inherently illegal, illegitimate, and unacceptable.
CPEC is launched in 2015 to enhance connectivity between Pakistan and China by building roads, energy projects, and industrial areas in Pakistan. A major part of this project passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Now the possibility of extending this project to Afghanistan is being considered. Pakistan and China have made a strategy in this regard.
