On Thursday morning at around 11.30 am, a female tennis player was shot dead by her father with three bullets in Sushantlok-2, Sector-57, Gurugram. Initial investigation has revealed that the father shot her in the back with a licensed revolver due to displeasure over the tennis player running an academy. Radhika Yadav was taken to a private hospital in critical condition, where she died during treatment. The police arrested the accused father and presented him in court today. The court has sent the accused on a one-day police remand.
The deceased was identified as state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav (about 25 years), who lived with her family in Sushantlok-2, Sector-57. The deceased Radhika ran a tennis academy, and her father (accused) was not happy with the idea of running a tennis academy. On Thursday, Radhika Yadav's father got angry and shot three bullets in her back with his licensed revolver due to a dispute with the deceased over running a tennis academy. After being shot, Radhika's uncle Kuldeep and cousin took her to a private hospital in a serious condition, where she died.
As soon as the information about the tennis player being shot was received, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Sector-56 police station in-charge, FSL, Scene of Crime, and Fingerprint police teams reached the spot. Police collected evidence from the house where the shot was fired. The body of the deceased was taken into custody and kept in the mortuary. Police investigation revealed that Radhika has also won many medals in tennis. A few months ago, Radhika had stopped playing tennis due to a shoulder injury. After this, Radhika started an academy to teach tennis to children in Wazirabad village, but Radhika's father, Deepak, was against opening this academy.
There was resentment over the matter of eating the daughter's earnings.
After opening the academy, Radhika's father got angry. He said that whenever he goes out in the village, the villagers tell him about eating his daughter's earnings. Father Deepak was very upset about this. For the last 15 days, there was a fight going on between father and daughter regarding the tennis academy. On Thursday morning, when there was an argument between the two on some issue, father Deepak shot three bullets in the back of daughter Radhika with his licensed revolver.
