Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level meeting with the NSA, the Army Chief, and the CDS following the skirmish between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army at a 17,000 feet peak in Arunachal Pradesh. Sources have said that India has a firm hold on the 17,000 ft high peak in Arunachal. Please tell that China is repeatedly trying to capture this 17,000 feet high peak. Strategically this peak is extremely important.

Indian Army sources said on December 9, about 300 soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of China came close to the LAC in the Tawang sector, about 35 km north-east of Tawang in the Yangtse, in the western part of Arunachal Pradesh. This resulted in a clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. After this, the area commanders of both the Indian and Chinese armies held a flag meeting. Both sides also immediately withdrew from the area. Area commanders of both armies held discussions to restore normalcy.

CDS, Army Chief were present

The high-level emergency meeting convened by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was attended by CDS Lt Gen Anil Chauhan, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pandey, and NSA Ajit Doval. It may also be mentioned here that earlier this month, China had objected to the Indo-US joint military exercise in Auli, Uttarakhand. However, India has categorically rejected China's objection to the joint exercise near the Line of Actual Control in Auli in Uttarakhand, saying it has not vetoed any third country on these issues.
