New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) India and the US are witnessing a relationship that is being "remade" and "reinvigorated", US Ambassador Richard R. Verma said on Saturday.

"India and the US want to broaden and deepen our partnership, what's more, we are ready to walk the talk. We are seeing a US-India relationship that is being remade and I am incredibly optimistic about the possibilities of our reinvigorated relationship," Verma said in his address at the India Today conclave here.

He said: "Our strategic partnership has moved into a new phase, a more mature one that I would characterize as 'strategic plus'. Our leaders share an understanding that if our democracies work in tandem, we can have a positive impact on global peace, democracy and economic prosperity."

The US ambassador listed five key areas where the United States wanted to collaborate with India.

The areas include climate change, clean energy, air pollution, development, health and science.

Verma also said that the United States and India's shared vision for the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions include working together, and with other interested partners on increasing regional economic integration.
