Kajol: 'Audience will hate my character in the series, said Kajol on playing the role of a lawyer in 'The Trial'

After impressing the world with her power-packed performances in films, Kajol is all set to foray into the web space with 'The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka'. Kajol will play the role of a lawyer in the Hindi adaptation of Suparn Verma's series The Good Wife. At the trailer launch of 'The Trial', Kajol revealed that she has watched the original series and loved it. Kajol said that she had some questions about how the series would be adapted into Hindi.

 

Kajol also talked about her role in this series. Talking about the original series, Kajol said that the characters in 'The Good Wife' were amazing. The content was great, but I had a question in my mind that how it would be adapted in Hindi, then Suparn Verma came in, and he told me that it was actually about the script. A screenplay is never about a character. The content of this series has been written very well. I liked the script.

 

In the trailer, Kajol's character Nayonika Sen Gupta is seen torn between right and wrong as she is hired to represent her husband who is embroiled in a harras and corruption scandal. The actress was asked how she adapted and fit into the character as there are many layers to the character. Responding to this, Kajol said, "It's an evolved character, a very complex character. Also every woman will be able to relate to it. You might not have gone through the scenario, but you can imagine these things." You would think what would you do if this ever happened? Secondly I am an artist, I will do it to the best of my abilities."

 

Talking about the character, Kajol said that this character is better in the series. There are certain parts where you will get lost in this series and I also like that part which women will also relate to. Kajol said that the audience will love the character of 'Nayonika Sen Gupta' in the series, but in some places, you will also hate her because of the decisions taken by her. You would think that sometimes she is saying something else and doing something else.

 

Kajol is very excited about her OTT debut. Recently the teaser of 'The Trial' was launched, in which Kajol's powerful avatar was seen. Fans are eagerly waiting for this series. This courtroom drama series will release on July 14 on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar, consisting eight episodes.
