New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister-designate and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal along with his associate Manish Sisodia Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed issues concerning Delhi.
Kejriwal, who is scheduled to take oath Feb 14, and Sisodia were with the prime minister for over 20 minutes.
"We discussed issues concerning Delhi, one of the issues was granting Delhi full statehood," Sisodia told reporters right after coming out of the meeting.
He said Modi has assured them of the Centre's full cooperation.
Keriwal and Sisodia have been meeting with all important ministers of the central government. On Wednesday, they met Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and also called on President Pranab Mukherjee.
Speaking to the media after brief meetings with these ministers, they maintained that the meetings were just courtesy calls and everybody whom they met had assured them of "full cooperation" while working in the national capital.
Meanwhile, preparations are on to make arrangements for the oath-taking ceremony at Ramlila Maidan.
Earlier in December 2013, Kejriwal took oath of the chief mintier of Delhi at the same place Dec 29 but resigned from the government after a period of only 49 days.
In the election campaign this time round, Kejriwal and his party people went on to tell the people of Delhi how had they performed and were able to contain corruption, and prices of essential commodities during their brief period of governance.
The Aam Aadmi Party won 67 out of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly polls.
