Efforts are being made once again to take Kashmir back to the 1990s. Amidst the deteriorating situation in Kashmir, some anti-national elements have once again started targeting Kashmiri Hindus and non-Kashmiris living in Kashmir. During these attacks, Kashmiri Hindus living in the Valley have also received threatening letters, warning them to either convert to Islam or leave Kashmir. If they do not obey, they will be killed. These threatening letters have been sent by the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Islam.
Confirming this, Kashmiri Pandit Vijay Raina, who lives in Baramulla, said that he too had received such a threatening letter. They were threatened to either convert to Islam or leave Kashmir or face death. Raina told that this letter has been sent to him by an organization called Lashkar-e-Islam. In this letter, he has warned the Hindus living in the Kashmir Valley that neither PM Modi nor Union Home Minister Amit Shah can save the lives of Kashmiri Pandits.
Raina said that this threat letter was not sent to him alone. This warning has been given to all Kashmiri Pandits living in Virwan Colony in Baramulla. Under the Prime Minister's package in this colony, Kashmiri Pandits are working in the Kashmir Valley. Raina told Lashkar-e-Islam that the Kashmiri Pandit is no longer afraid of these threatening letters. Kashmiri Pandits have full rights over Kashmir. Just as the common Kashmiri wants peace and progress in the Muslim community, the Pandit also wants to walk with them on the path of development. He said that common Kashmiri Muslims are also fed up with terrorism and now want to live in peace with mutual brotherhood.
Some anti-national elements are not liking the changing situation in the Kashmir Valley. They want to create fear among Kashmiri Hindus by doing such acts. Emphasizing maintaining communal harmony, Raina urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure the arrest of the culprits. Strictest action should be taken against those who sympathize with Pakistan and the enemies of Kashmir. Now Kashmiri Pandits are not going to be afraid of these threatening letters.
Simultaneously, Raina appealed to Jammu and Kashmir Police and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that this letter can also be a warning for further killings in the Kashmir Valley. That is why it is very important to take it seriously. The way target killings have increased in the Kashmir Valley over a few months, there is a need to take concrete steps to stop this series of killings.
Let us tell you that last Wednesday, terrorists killed Kashmiri Hindu Satish Kumar Singh by entering his house in the Kulgam district. Earlier on April 4, terrorists shot at Bal Krishna Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit in district Shopian. He was seriously injured in this attack. Bhat runs a drugstore in Chotigam, Shopian. Bhat's condition is now stated to be stable after being treated at the Army's 92-Base Hospital in Srinagar. The Resistance Front, an affiliate of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility for the attack.
