Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown till 7 am on June 1. With this, negative RT-PCR has been made mandatory for all people coming from outside states. According to the new order, anyone entering the state's border by any means must show their negative corona report. The death toll of corona-infected patients in the state is raising concern. In the last 24 hours, 816 patients died and 46,781 new patients were found. Now the total positive cases in the state have increased to 52.2 lakhs. The total figure of the dead has reached 78,007.
The number of deaths has also increased in Mumbai. Concerns about this were expressed in the state cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. It was told during the meeting that the death rate (death rate) in Mumbai from April 14 to April 20 was 0.6%, which rose from April 21 to April 27 to 1.14%. This is followed by 2.27% from 28 April to 4 May. After a slight decrease on Tuesday, 66 people died here on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, 51 patients died here. However, 50% of the patients who died already had some diseases other than corona. The death toll in Mumbai has risen to 13,972. Which is 18% of the total deaths in the state. 2,700 patients are still admitted to the Critical Care Unit in Mumbai.

Death rate crossed 5 in these districts
During the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, concern has been expressed about the rising death rate in small districts like Nandurbar, Nanded, Latur, and Osmanabad. The mortality rate in Nandurbar and Nanded has risen to over 5%, while it is over 2.3% in Latur and Osmanabad. On the other hand, the number of people who are daily discharged in the state is also increasing continuously. Now there are 5.4 lakh active patients in the state, out of which 36, 595 patients are from Mumbai.
The figures of infected patients in the state do not appear to be satisfactory, so in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, all the members had proposed to increase the lockdown till 31 May. On which the official announcement to increase the lockdown was granted on Wednesday.
Simultaneously, vaccination of people between 18 years and 44 years has been stopped citing lack of vaccines in the state. Vaccines for these will now be applied to those above 45 years of age.
