Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, "The news from Prayagraj is heartbreaking. He said, "Poor management and giving priority to VIP movement over common pilgrims is responsible for this tragic incident." Expressing concern over the stampede incident, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "After today's incident, the arrangements for the Maha Kumbh should be handed over to the army to restore the confidence of the devotees. He said, "The truth behind the claims of world-class arrangements has come to the fore. Therefore, those who were making such claims should take moral responsibility and resign."
