The Haryana government has decided to hand over the investigation of the death of play school teacher Manisha, resident of Dhani Laxman, to the CBI.
On Wednesday, Manisha's body was post-mortemmed for the third time at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. After this, the body was handed over to the relatives at 5:30 pm. The body was brought back from Delhi and kept in the government hospital of Bhiwani as a security measure. After which, Manisha's body reached the crematorium directly from the hospital this morning. Manisha was cremated by her younger brother. Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered.
Let us tell you, on Tuesday, Manisha's relatives and villagers refused to perform the last rites, demanding a CBI inquiry and a second post-mortem at Delhi AIIMS.
On Wednesday morning, CM Naib Singh posted on X and said that the case would be handed over to the CBI. After this, the villagers agreed to the last rites. Then, some people from the deceased's family and the administration team left Bhiwani hospital with Manisha's body in an ambulance. But meanwhile, the situation changed due to external interference at the protest in village Dhani Laxman.
Youths who had come from outside areas to the village started creating a ruckus by raising the issue of the CM's post being fake and not allowing the last rites to be performed until the post-mortem is done at Delhi AIIMS. However, later, the Panchayat took control of the situation and reiterated the administration's demand, not allowing the last rites to be performed until the post-mortem was done at Delhi AIIMS.
After this, Manisha's body had to be taken back to Bhiwani hospital from Jui town (about 35 km from Bhiwani), midway. Accepting the demand of the relatives, the body was sent to Delhi AIIMS at around 2 pm. On the other hand, the roads were opened after the announcement of the end of the protest late in the evening.
Villagers had blocked the roads, the Chairperson of the Women's Commission could not reach the village, and had to hold a meeting at a rest house three km away
On Wednesday afternoon, Chairperson of Haryana State Women's Commission Renu Bhatia reached Bhiwani to meet Manisha's family. But she could not enter the village as the villagers had blocked all the roads of Dhani Laxman village by cutting down trees.
After this, she reached the rest house of Dhigawa Mandi, three km away from the village. There she talked to the village sarpanch and committee members. Renu Bhatia said that she is in constant touch with Manisha's family over the phone.
This was the case
18-year-old Manisha of Dhani Laxman village of Bhiwani was a teacher in a private play school in the neighboring village of Singhani. She went to school on 11 August but did not return. Her body was found in the fields on 13 August. The family and villagers alleged rape and murder.
The state government got the post-mortem done twice in Bhiwani and Rohtak PGI before Delhi AIIMS. Both reports confirmed that the death was due to poisoning and there was no rape. Protests were being held at many places in the entire state against the incident.
