The G20 summit began on Tuesday in Bali, Indonesia. Food and Energy Security were discussed in the first session. In this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi insisted on stopping the Ukraine-Russia war. In the evening, Indonesian President Joko Widodo hosted a dinner for all the leaders attending the summit. During this Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping came face to face. Both shook hands and talked for some time.
Earlier, during the SCO meeting held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in September, both the leaders were present on the same stage, but then both of them did not even see eye to eye. It has been said in some media reports that Modi and Jinping may hold separate talks on the sidelines of the G-20 summit.
A few hours before the dinner, Modi addressed the Indian community living in Indonesia. Here Modi said- Every Indian has a different feeling after coming to Indonesia and Bali. I am also feeling the same vibrations. We have thousands of years old relationships. We have been following this tradition for thousands of years.
Important things about Modi's speech...
We are in Bali and the Bali Jatra (travel) is going on in Cuttack, one and a half thousand kilometers away from here. We often say in conversation - It's a small world. The waves of the sea have kept alive the relations between the two countries. Indians have remained co-travelers in the development here.
Both countries are companions of happiness and sorrow. When there was an earthquake in 2018, we launched Operation Samudra Maitriyi.
We are not 99 nautical miles away, we are 99 nautical miles close. There is a lot of difference between India before 2014 and India after 2014. The big difference is not Modi, it is skill and speed.
We have opened as many bank accounts as the total population of America. 55 thousand kilometers of national highways have been built. This is equivalent to going around one and a half times around the whole earth.
During the Corona period, the number of vaccine doses that India administered to its citizens for free is two and a half times more than the population of America and the European Union. That's why I say India has changed. We are not selfish. The world has expectations from us. We are doing it responsibly.
The next Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan will be held in Indore in January next year. It is the cleanest city in India. If you come to Indore, also come to the kite festival in Ahmedabad. Bring some Indonesian families with you as well.
Modi said – We have to find a way to stop the Ukraine-Russia war
In the first session of the summit, food and energy security were discussed among the G20 leaders. In this, PM Modi said- Corona and after that, the Ukraine crisis has created havoc in the world. Even the UN could not do anything about these issues. We must find a way to stop the Ukraine-Russia war. Because of this, the global supply chain has been badly affected.
US President Joe Biden himself reached out to meet Modi
During the summit, US President Joe Biden himself visited Modi. Modi could not see Biden. He was going to the other side. Meanwhile, Biden called him, and then both were seen laughing. A few minutes later, the Prime Minister called French President Emmanuel Macron and spoke to him as well.
Hindi-speaking American spokesperson
Hindi-speaking spokesperson in the US State Department, Zed Tarar, was in discussion. Tarar is of Pakistani origin, but he also has a good command of difficult words in Hindi. He is also often seen on TV channels. During the G20, the State Department entrusted him with an important responsibility. He also gave interviews with some Indian TV channels. Talking to DD News, Tarar said – India and America cannot part ways now. Our beauty and strength is democracy and the world needs it the most.
Modi's talk in G20 Manifesto
The Shanghai Cooperation Summit was held in Samarkand two months ago. During this, Modi had told Russian President Vladimir Putin – this is not an era of war, but of dialogue. Then this talk of Modi was raised loudly by the western media. Now this line has been given a place in the G20's communique or manifesto.
