Surat's district court has sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in prison for making derogatory remarks about Modi's surname at a 2019 election rally. The court has also granted bail to Rahul for 30 days. Surat Chief Judicial Magistrate Harish Hasmukh Verma on Thursday sentenced Rahul under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code.
