IPL 2024: LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka unhappy with the team's performance against Hyderabad, imposed captain's class

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a historic win against Lucknow Supergiants on Wednesday. No bowler from Lucknow could save his credibility in the storm of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Both the batsmen gave explosive performances to the team to win by 10 wickets. With this win, Hyderabad reached third place in the points table. After the match, Lucknow owner Sanjeev Goenka scolded captain KL Rahul fiercely. He expressed displeasure over the team's performance, the video of which is now going viral on social media.

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 10 wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, Lucknow scored 165 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs. Hyderabad team achieved the target of 166 runs within 10 overs i.e. in 9.4 overs. Hyderabad won the match with 62 balls remaining. Travis Head scored 89 runs in 30 balls with the help of eight fours and eight sixes and Abhishek Sharma played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs in 28 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes. Abhishek ended the match with a six.


 

Lucknow's innings

Lucknow Super Giants has set a target of 166 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After winning the toss and batting first, Lucknow scored 165 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs. At one time Lucknow had lost four wickets for 66 runs in the 12th over. After this, Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Puran made an unbeaten partnership of 99 runs in 52 balls. Badoni scored an unbeaten 55 runs in 30 balls with the help of nine fours. At the same time, Puran played an unbeaten inning of 48 runs in 26 balls with the help of six fours and one six.


 

KL Rahul was out after scoring 29 runs in 33 balls, Quinton de Kock was out after scoring two runs and Marcus Stoinis was out after scoring three runs. Whereas, Krunal Pandya scored 24 runs in 21 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets for Hyderabad. At the same time, captain Pat Cummins got one wicket.

With this victory, the Hyderabad team has come to third place in the points table. They have 14 points after 12 matches with seven wins and five losses. Hyderabad's net run rate is +0.406. At the same time, this was Lucknow's sixth defeat in the 12th match. The team is in sixth position with 12 points and a net run rate of -0.769. Hyderabad's next matches are against Gujarat Titans on 16 May and Punjab Kings on 19 May. Hyderabad team will play both these matches on its home ground. At the same time, the Lucknow team has to face Delhi on 14th May at Arun Jaitley Stadium and Mumbai on 17th May at Wankhede.
