Indian team's fast bowler Mohammed Shami's troubles have increased. The Calcutta High Court has ordered Shami to pay maintenance expenses of Rs 4 lakh per month to his estranged wife Hasin Jahan and daughter. Mohammed Shami will now have to pay Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand to Hasin Jahan and Rs 2 lakh to his daughter every month.
Mohammed Shami will have to pay Rs 4 lakh every month.
In fact, Hasin Jahan had approached the High Court in 2023 against the order of a District Sessions Court, in which the cricketer was directed to pay Rs 50 thousand to his wife and Rs 80 thousand to his daughter. Now on this matter, the High Court has ordered that Shami will have to pay four lakh rupees per month by adding it for the last seven years.
He has ordered the lower court to settle the matter in 6 months. Justice Ajay Mukherjee gave this order on the petition of Hasin Jahan.
It is known that the dispute between Hasin Jahan and Mohammed Shami is very old. Hasin had earlier asked Shami for alimony of Rs 7 lakh per month.
At that time, the court had rejected her demand. The court said that Hasin Jahan earns money from modeling. So the court had asked Shami to pay Rs 50,000 for his wife and Rs 80,000 for the child, but Hasin was not happy with this decision.
Hasin Jahan had accused Mohammad Shami and his family of domestic violence at the Jadavpur police station in March 2018, four years after their marriage.
Apart from domestic violence, she had also accused Shami of dowry harassment and match fixing, while also alleging that Shami had stopped taking financial responsibility for the expenses of their family.
