IMD senior scientist RK Jenamani said on Thursday that the monsoon has covered parts of the south and the central Arabian Sea, entire Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu between May 31 and June 7. It has engulfed the entire Northeast. Jenamani said there is no delay in the progress of the monsoon. It is likely to reach Maharashtra in the next two days and reach Mumbai in the next two days. It may rain here
In the next two days, there will be strong winds and clouds will start forming. Conditions are favorable for the further advance of the Monsoon into Goa and some more parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu in the next two days. Earlier, IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said, as predicted, rains may start from June 15. At the same time, he said that due to the rains, it would be easier to sow the crops of paddy, maize, cotton, soybean, sugarcane, and groundnut.
