A Bajrang Dal worker was stabbed to death at around 9 pm on Sunday in Karnataka's Shivamogga district. The slain youth has been identified as 26-year-old Harsha. Tension has increased in Shivamogga after the incident. Miscreants torched several vehicles in the city's Seegehatti area. Because of the growing uproar, Section 144 has been imposed in the city. Schools and colleges have been closed in Shivamogga for two days.
Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa have given a shocking statement in the Harsha murder case. He said- 'I am deeply saddened by the death of Bajrang Dal worker. Harsha was murdered by Muslim goons. I am going to Shivamanga now to take stock of the situation. We will not allow hooliganism.
School-college closed for two days
Here, State Home Minister Araga Gyanendra reached to meet the family of the slain Bajrang Dal worker. "A 26-year-old youth was killed by a group of 4-5 youths. Which organization is behind this murder, is not yet known. At present, schools and colleges are being closed for two days as a precautionary measure to keep the law and order situation under control in Shivamogga.
The deceased had posted against the hijab on Facebook
In the initial investigation, the police are looking at linking it to the hijab controversy, as Harsha had written a post on her Facebook profile against the hijab and in support of the saffron shawl. Bajrang Dal has been very active since the hijab controversy came to light in Udupi, Karnataka. That is why the suspicion of conspiracy angle in Harsha's murder has deepened. However, the police are refraining from saying anything about this.
Security tightened because of tension
The atmosphere is already tense due to the ongoing hijab controversy in Karnataka. In such a situation, after the murder of a Bajrang Dal worker, the situation is expected to worsen. At present, the police are on alert and the entire state security system has been alerted.
Hindu organizations oppose hijab
Many Hindu organizations including Bajrang Dal are opposing the entry of hijab in schools. Earlier, in a government school in Kopa, Karnataka, students wearing saffron protested the hijab. It was alleged that the school had allowed students to come wearing saffron and asked Muslim girl students not to wear hijab.
After this, the school said in its order that till January 10, students can wear clothes according to their wish. In protest, the students have started wearing saffron scarves. On the other hand, Bajrang Dal convener Sunil KR of Karnataka had called the hijab controversy as hijab jihad.
Congress leader released the video and said - will cut
In the Karnataka Hijab case, a video of a Karnataka Congress leader has gone viral in which he is seen threatening those who oppose Hijab. In the viral video, Mukarram Khan is seen saying that those opposing the hijab will be cut into pieces.
