Nationwide demonstration of IMA against the assault on doctors, protest outside Secretariat in Kerala

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is holding a nationwide protest today against the incidents of assault on doctors. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is holding nationwide protests today demanding a central law to protect doctors from violence. In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the Kerala wing of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) protested outside the Secretariat over the attack on doctors. During this people expressed their opposition. Doctors across the country are registering their protest with black flags and wearing black masks on their faces. However, this is not affecting the medical facilities in the hospitals.

 

In the recent past, there have been incidents of assault on doctors at many places. Because of this, the IMA is demanding the central government to enact a strict law. IMA says that more than 700 doctors have died across the country in the second wave of Corona. Still, the doctors were on duty continuously. Nevertheless, incidents of assault have come to the fore. This is the reason why the IMA has announced a protest. But the AIIMS Resident Doctors Association has refused to participate in the protest.

 

In the global corona epidemic, doctors and health workers are serving corona-infected patients for the last 15 months by risking their lives. Despite that, some people of the society were treated with indecent behavior towards doctors and staff. There are many such states including Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Assam where Corona Warriors were also attacked.
