New Delhi: Relieving students seeking admission to the country's prestigious engineering and medical college, the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry on Sunday said that a new date for JEE and NEET examinations will be announced on May 5. These examinations were postponed due to the logu nationwide lockdown to prevent the Kovid-19 epidemic from spreading.
Let me tell you, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will announce it at 12 noon on Tuesday. The Union Minister is going to communicate directly with students from all over the country through a webinar on Tuesday. Nishank will also announce the dates of JEE Main and NEET exams during this program. JEE Main and NEET exam is likely to be held in the last week of June.
According to a senior official of the ministry, the Union Minister is interacting with the students for the second time. In the previous dialogue, the parents of the students were also connected with the teachers. But in this dialogue of May 5, only the students will be selected.
It is noteworthy that the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Mains) is held for admission in engineering colleges across the country, while admission in medical colleges across the country is taken through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
In view of the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus in India, the National Testing Agency had postponed the JEE Main examination to be held in April and later the NEET exam. After this, the students were given an opportunity to change the examination center, so that those who are there can take the exam in the center nearby. The ministry had prepared to conduct the exam in the last week of May, but due to the lockdown extending till May 17, it is not possible to conduct the exam in the last week of May as well.
