Himachal Pradesh University is going to implement National Education Policy-2020 in undergraduate degree courses in UG degree courses from the academic session 2022-23 itself. Under the new education policy, once again the semester system is being implemented in the undergraduate degree courses. For this, the syllabus of undergraduate degree courses will be changed as per the policy. For necessary changes in the curriculum of undergraduate degree courses including BA, BSc, B.Com, and other courses, the Dean of Studies of the University, Prof. Kulbhushan Chandel has issued orders to prepare the draft after meeting with the heads of departments. It was approved in the meeting of the Dean\'s Committee.
By the nd of this month, it will be approved by the Executive Council of the University after getting approval from the Board of Studies, Academic Council. According to the draft of the new education policy issued by the UGC, the heads of departments will have to prepare the syllabus. Along with this, the process of preparing a basket of multiple exits, entry, adding a course, and skill-based courses have also been started in the UG degree course from the new session. UG students will be able to select from the basket of these courses as per their wish. For this, they will also get separate credits. The policy will be implemented in all the colleges affiliated with HPU.
The semester system implemented under RUSA CBCS in the university from 2013 to 2018 is once again being implemented in the UG degree courses after the implementation of the new education policy. Pro. Kulbhushan Chandel said that from this session the new education policy will be implemented in the undergraduate degree courses. For this, guidelines have been issued after meeting with all the heads of departments to make necessary changes in the syllabus. The draft of the syllabus will be prepared in 15 days and it will be approved by the Board of Studies and Academic Council. After that, it will be given final approval by EC. Guidelines will be issued in time to all colleges regarding this.
Education policy will be fully implemented
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University and the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University, Prof. SP Bansal said that from the new session, the new education policy will be fully implemented in the UG. Month, all the preparations including the syllabus will be completed by the end of this month so that the admission process starts in the colleges according to the new education policy.
