BJP has expressed confidence in a Brahmin face in Rajasthan in the form of Bhajanlal Sharma. After 33 years, a Brahmin Chief Minister will take oath in the state. Haridev Joshi of Congress was the last CM till 1990. The name of party state president CP Joshi was also before the high command but the party expressed confidence in Sharma. Sharma has been in politics for the last 35 years.
Sharma, a native of Attari village in Nadbai tehsil of Bharatpur district, had joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in his college days. Later he came into active politics. However, Sharma was not very successful in electoral politics in the initial phase. In the initial phase, he lost the Sarpanch election once. However, in 2000 he was elected Sarpanch of his village Attari. Bhajanlal Sharma, who did his post graduation in Political Science, became the Bharatpur District BJP President in 2009. He was first holding the post of State Vice President of BJP in 2014 and General Secretary from 2016 till now. Before Bhajanlal, Haridev Joshi from Congress was CM thrice from 1973 to 1977, then from 1985 to 1988, and again from 1989 to 1990.
MLAs were accommodated in a hotel
Before the announcement of the name of the new CM, the party exercised full caution in case of any dissatisfaction among the party MLAs in the state. The party had called 8 independent MLAs of the state to Jaipur. These MLAs were accommodated in a hotel. However, these MLAs were kept away from the party meeting. In the 200-member assembly, BJP has won 115 seats while Congress has won 69 seats.
Fought elections against BJP from Social Justice Forum
In 2003, after not getting a ticket from the BJP, Bhajanlal Sharma contested the election from Nadbai from the Social Justice Forum against BJP but lost. He had to be satisfied with only 5,969 votes. The decisions of the BJP leadership in the CM and Deputy CM case are not a good sign for Vasundhara's future. Bhajan Lal Sharma has been elected MLA from the Sanganer seat where the ticket of Vasundhara's close aide Ashok Lahoti was rejected.
Do not trust media speculations, Modi had advised in 2019
After the announcement of the names of the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, a part of the speech given by Prime Minister Modi in 2019 has proved to be true. In this speech, the PM said that neither ministers are made nor ministers are removed from media news. This is not the character of the BJP and NDA.
