At the same time, the entry of people in the surrounding areas including Connaught Place (CP) has been stopped from 8 pm on December 31. This restriction will apply to private vehicles as well as public transport. People will also have to go from Ajmeri Gate side to reach New Delhi Railway Station. The road from Connaught Place to Chelmsford Road via Paharganj to the railway station will remain closed. However, the entry from Deshbandhu Gupta Roadside will remain open.

Police have imposed restrictions in Noida and Greater Noida regarding the new year. Section-144 is applicable in the Gautam Budh Nagar district. At the same time, a night curfew has been imposed from 11 pm to 5 am. New Year's parties will be banned in closed and open places including hotels, restaurants, bars.
