Waqf Act will not be implemented in Bengal - CM Mamata.

Mamata Banerjee had earlier said that the Waqf Act will not be implemented in Bengal and she will protect minorities and their properties. Reacting to Banerjee's remarks, the Minority Affairs Minister said, "We work under a federal structure. She can oppose the Act in principle, but cannot say that she will not implement the law passed by Parliament in the state."

He said, 'We will soon expose those who are looting poor Muslims and misleading them about the provisions of the law. Such people and some politicians doing vote bank politics have spread the lie that Muslims will lose their graveyards and mosques and their land will be confiscated. It is a sin to lie.'

What did the Union Minister say about Waqf's properties?

He also criticized the Trinamool Congress chief for the violence in Murshidabad over the Waqf Act. He said that many members of the Muslim community have come forward to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the Waqf Act. The Union Minister said that rules will be made to ensure that Waqf properties are used for the welfare of poor Muslims.
