Chennai, Feb 20 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam Friday said no statue of Nathuram Godse, who shot dead Mahatma Gandhi, has been installed in the state by Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM).
"As permission was not given by district and police administration, the organisation (ABHM) did not install Godse's statue anywhere in Tamil Nadu," Panneerselvam told the state assembly.
He said the situation is being keenly watched by the government.
Panneerselvam said ABHM had announced to install Godse's statue nationwide Jan 30.
He said two factions of ABHM in Tamil Nadu had announced installation of Godse's statue in 13 districts and if police deny permission then the statue would be installed in their offices.
