Sri Lanka batted first in the match played in Dunedin and the entire team was all out for 141 runs in 19 overs.
In response, New Zealand achieved the target by losing one wicket in 14.4 overs. Adam Milne (4 overs, 26 runs, 5 wickets) was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant performance. With this victory, the Kiwi team drew 1-1 in the three T20 International series. The third and final T20 International match between the two countries will be played in Queenstown on Saturday.

Chasing the target of 142 runs, New Zealand got off to an aggressive start by Tim Seifert (79 *). He added 40 runs for the first wicket with Chad Bowes (31).
