Army Chief MM Naravane: Army Chief General MM Naravane has once again warned China not to dare to take India's 'test of patience'. The Army Chief has said that the unilateral status quo on the LAC will not be allowed to change at any cost, as India's "patience is a symbol of confidence".
On Saturday, on the occasion of 74th Army Day, Army Chief General Naravane was addressing soldiers at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Cantt, capital Delhi. The status quo will not be allowed to change.
On the situation in the Line of Control (LoC), the Army Chief said that the situation has improved to a great extent since the ceasefire agreement between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan last year, but added that the LoC is still on the Pakistani side of 350- 400 soldiers are present, who are trying to infiltrate. The smuggling of weapons from Pakistan's side with drones is still going on. The army chief also made the soldiers aware of the situation in Kashmir and the northeast states.
Welcoming women in the army, he said that from June this year, women cadets will be able to enroll in the National Defense Academy ie NDA. At the same time, he said that women have been approved to become pilots in Army Aviation. On the occasion of Army Day, General Naravane took several salutes in the parade at Cariappa Ground.
