At least 13 people were injured in a blast on Monday at a market in the Khujdar district of Pakistan's Balochistan province. A senior police officer said the explosives were attached to a motorcycle parked in the market and detonated by remote control.
Due to the night there was not much damage
The official said that since it was nighttime, there were few people around and most of the shops were closed, so no one was killed. "Police have reached the area and cordoned it off," the officer said. The injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital, out of which the condition of two is stated to be critical.
The attack took place amid the standoff with Afghanistan.
The attack comes amid growing militancy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with the reported withdrawal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban militants from Afghanistan. Currently, a standoff is going on between the security forces and the terrorists who captured the Bannu Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) complex on Sunday. The militants, who were detained at the facility, have taken interrogators hostage and are demanding safe evacuation to Afghanistan.
