There are 13 days left for the start of the Paris Olympics. Former players who have participated in the Olympics expect a good performance from the Indians. This tournament will start on July 26, for which Indian players are sweating hard. Earlier, former players participated in the discussion 'In Search of Glory: India's Prospects in the 2024 Olympics' organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce on Friday and discussed India's preparations.

Gurbaksh Singh expressed hope for a good performance from Indian players.

During this, former Olympic medalist Gurbaksh Singh said, "Only when the Olympics come, we wake up, the whole country wakes up. This attitude should change. We have got a tough pool. The first goal should be to reach the semi-finals. We have to enter the field with only the thought of winning."

Gymnast Dipa Karmakar also gave her opinion.

Gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who missed the bronze medal by a narrow margin in the Rio Olympics 2016, also inspired the players. She said, "You should have the will to achieve everything. After finishing fourth, I asked coach Bishweshwar Nandi sir how I faced the crores of Indians who believed in me. He had so many expectations from me. I wanted to go directly to Agartala but he said that the whole country awaits you."

She said, "And the way I was welcomed after I came, I was stunned. I remember how many inspiring words Prime Minister Narendra Modi said and he knew every minute detail of my performance."

What did Rahul Banerjee say?

Former Olympian archer Rahul Banerjee said a player should always learn from failures. He said, "If you win the first tournament, you celebrate and if you lose the second, you are declared a failure."
