Recently, former US President Donald Trump was shot. After this, Trump has gone to Milwaukee to attend the Republican National Convention. Now a case of five police officers shooting a man from the National Convention has come to light.
Giving information about this incident, the Milwaukee Police Chief said that five Ohio police officers in Wisconsin shot a man fighting with a knife near the convention, killing him.
Had a knife in both hands
Milwaukee Chief Jeffrey Norman said in a conference that the man shot by members of the Columbus, Ohio Police Department had knives in both hands and he refused to accept police orders. The Milwaukee Chief further said that two knives and an AK-47 had been recovered from the man.
Let us tell you that the name of the presidential candidate Donald Trump was officially approved by the party in the convention itself. Thousands of officers from many jurisdictions are in Milwaukee to provide additional security for the convention starting on Monday and ending on Thursday. The shooting has sparked anger among residents, who questioned why out-of-state officers were in their neighborhood, located about a mile from the convention site.
The body will be autopsied.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examining Officer has said in a statement that a man was shot and killed. The autopsy will be conducted today. Also, the Milwaukee Police Department has not responded to emails seeking more information about the shooting.
Who was the man's target?
The Milwaukee mayor's chief of staff and a spokesperson for the convention's joint command center all said there was nothing to suggest the shooting was related to the convention.
Milwaukee residents and activists immediately gathered at the scene of the shooting, many of them expressing displeasure about the police department's involvement in the city due to the convention. Dozens of police officers at the scene stood behind police tape and refused to answer questions about what had happened.
