On reaching Port of Spain, he was given a grand welcome by singing Bhojpuri Chautal in a desi style with Jhal-Taase and Dhol Manjire. He was overwhelmed to see his welcome in such a desi style. PM Modi has described it as a cultural connection between the two countries. He said that it is not found anywhere else in the world.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also met the people of the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago and appreciated their contribution to the development of the country. He said that the diaspora community has not only achieved success in various fields, but they are also deeply connected with Indian culture.
