His gentleness and intelligence were the hallmarks of his life. I remember, when his term in the Rajya Sabha ended, I had said that his dedication as an MP is worth learning.'
The Prime Minister said, 'Despite holding high positions, Manmohan Singh never forgot his roots. He was easily available to everyone. When I was the Chief Minister, I used to discuss national and international issues with Manmohan Singh with an open mind. Even after coming to Delhi, I used to discuss with him from time to time, I will always remember those discussions and meetings. Today, in this difficult time, I offer my condolences to his family.'
