Before the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented his views in front of the media. He said on the Parliament House premises that today is a day of pride in parliamentary democracy, it is a day of glory. For the first time after independence, this oath is being taken in our new Parliament, till now this process used to happen in the old Parliament. The Prime Minister targeted the Congress over the Emergency. He said that tomorrow is 25 June. On 25 June, 50 years of that blot on India's democracy are being completed. The new generation of India will never forget that the Constitution of India was completely rejected, every part of the Constitution was torn to pieces, the country was turned into a prison, and democracy was completely suppressed.

 

He said that while protecting their Constitution, India's democracy, and democratic traditions, the countrymen will take a pledge that no one should dare to do the same thing in India again, which was done 50 years ago. We will pledge to have a vibrant democracy. We will pledge to fulfill the dreams of the common man as per the instructions of the Constitution of India.

 

'The goal of building a developed India by 2047'

 

PM Modi said that this formation of Parliament is to fulfill the resolutions of the common man of India. This is an opportunity to achieve new speed, and new heights with new zeal, and new enthusiasm. The 18th Lok Sabha is starting today to build a developed India by 2047.

 

'The world's largest selection was completed in a very grand manner'

 

Prime Minister Modi said that it is a matter of pride for every Indian that the world's largest election was completed in a very grand manner, in a very glorious manner. More than 65 crore voters participated in the voting. This election also became very important because, for the second time after independence, the people of the country have allowed a government to serve for the third consecutive time.

 

'Consensus is most important for running the country'

The Prime Minister said that in the last 10 years, we have always tried to follow a tradition. We believe that a majority is required to run the government, but consensus is most important for running the country. Therefore, our constant endeavor will be to serve Mother India and fulfill the aspirations and ambitions of 140 crore people with everyone's consent and by taking everyone along. We want to move forward while maintaining the sanctity of the Constitution, taking everyone along, and want to speed up decision making.
