Guwahati, April 24 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday cast his vote in Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency along with his wife Gurcharan Kaur, and said there was no wave sweeping the country in favour of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"I don't think the Congress is losing ground. We should wait till the outcome of the polls, which will be known on May 16," he told media persons after casting his ballot at the Dispur Government H.S. School in Guwahati.
"I have not seen any Modi wave sweeping the country. The Modi wave is only a creation of the media," he said.
The prime minister and his wife, however, skipped a visit to his rented house in Sarumotoria area, located close to the polling centre, and instead left for New Delhi immediately after voting.
Manmohan Singh, who has been representing Assam in the Rajya Sabha since 1991, is listed as a tenant resident of House No.3989 in Sarumotoria area of Guwahati.
