A big statement has come from Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Commander of the Northern Command of the Indian Army regarding Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Indian Army is fully prepared to take back PoK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir). Whenever the government orders, we will implement it. This has increased the stir in India and Pakistan as well as at the international level.
There is a lot of political rhetoric regarding PoK. Leaders keep making tall claims, but this is the first time such a statement has come from such a senior army officer. Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah have also given statements to get PoK back.
In such a situation, the question is arising whether India is preparing to get PoK back. What does the statement of the army commander mean? What does Prime Minister Narendra Modi think about PoK? Let's know...
First, know what the army commander said?
In fact, on Tuesday, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi was talking to the media. During this, a media person asked him a question regarding PoK, referring to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. In this, the statement was mentioned in which the Defense Minister had said that we have just started the development journey of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. The goal will be accomplished only when we reach Gilgit-Baltistan.
Responding to this, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi said, 'The resolution on PoK has been passed in the Parliament, there is nothing new in it. It is part of the resolution of the Parliament. The army is ready to obey every order of the government. Whenever there is an order from the government, the army will move forward with all its might.
What is the meaning of this statement?
To understand this, we spoke to two retired officers of the Indian Army. Both officers have served in Kashmir. However, the opinion of both officers differed on this issue. Let's start with Colonel Zahid Siddiqui. He said, 'The statement of the commander of the Northern Command should not be misinterpreted. Earlier our army indeed used to live in defensive mode, but now it is proactive. But this does not mean that we are going to launch any attack to get PoK right now.
Colonel Siddiqui further said, 'Army Commander wants to convey that the entire team of Northern Command is ready for every situation. If the government orders on today's date, they can start action to get PoK. This means that the soldiers of the Northern Command have adequate training, weapons, ammunition, and all the necessary items. If a situation arises for any action, then the army will not need separate time for its arrangement.
At the same time, another senior retired officer of the army gave his opinion on this issue on the condition of anonymity. The retired colonel, who has served for a long time in Jammu and Kashmir, said that since 2014, there has been a big change in the Indian Army. Now we are not just in defensive mode, but in attacking mode. The government has already cleared the issue of PoK and Balochistan. The Home Minister has given an official statement in the Parliament of the country that one day PoK will be taken back by India. Now the statement of the Commander of the Northern Command of the Army has come. This is also very important. It should not be taken lightly. We can expect big action in the coming few years.
The retired colonel further said India's action on PoK may also start in the next few years or years. Even if it is limited war. The statement of the Commander of the Northern Command also means that India is ready to carry out this action at any time.
International forces also keep an eye on Pakistan
The retired colonel said, 'Pakistan is going through many difficulties at the moment. Along with political instability, the economic condition of Pakistan is also very bad. The debt of China and other countries has increased. In such a situation, it will not be surprising if Pakistan gets divided into three pieces in the coming years. One of which can be occupied by China, while the other by Afghanistan. The atmosphere in Balochistan has also deteriorated. India will also get its benefit.
The economy must be strong for the war.
Colonel Zahid Siddiqui, while denying the possibility of any kind of action on PoK, said, any country needs to have a strong economy as a backup to fight a war. Even though we have enough resources now and we can attack Pakistan, it is not enough. Within four to five days of the start of the war, its effect will start falling on the whole country. In such a situation, the country's economy should be strengthened before the war.
Statements have been given from Prime Minister to Defense Minister and Home Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah have given statements regarding PoK. While delivering the Independence Day speech on 15 August 2016, the PM mentioned this from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Referring to the atrocities on civilians in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and PoK, he had said, 'People from faraway places whom I have not even seen. Whom I haven't even met, when such people thank the Indian Prime Minister, and greet him, then it is an honor for 125 crore people of the country.
