Prisoners to be released on 90-day parole in Uttarakhand, High Power Committee issued an order

Keeping in view the second severe wave of pandemic Covid-19, the High Power Committee has been set up in the state on the orders of the Supreme Court. The committee should again release the detained prisoners in the state prison, especially those who were released on parole during the Covid-19 epidemic last year, on 90-day payroll so that the prisoners are not at risk of infection of the above epidemic Can.

 

Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority member-secretary RK Khulbe informed that the High Power Committee is currently in existence in Uttarakhand state under the auspices of the Supreme Court. Whose ex-officio chairman is Justice Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari, executive chairman of Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority. Apart from this, the principal secretary of the state is an ex-officio member of the Home and Prisons and Director General of Prisons Committee. The order has been issued by the committee on May 9 to release the detained prisoners in the state prison, especially those who were released on parole during the Covid-19 pandemic last year, on 90 days of parole. And in respect of this, the same guidelines should be followed again, which was followed last year.

 

About the above, Secretary Home and Inspector General, Prison, all District Judge, President, District Legal Services Authority have been directed to ensure action. The District Magistrate, SP, SSP of all the districts of the state have also been instructed to follow the Covid-19 Rules and Guidelines regarding the release of prisoners on parole from prison to their respective places in the sequence of the above order. In compliance, be sure to take appropriate action. The committee has also instructed all CMOs, including DG Health, to ensure that the prisoners released on parole make a corona check before release. The member secretary of the authority was told that the order has been implemented in the state of Uttarakhand with immediate effect.
