Lakhimpur Kheri violence: Main accused Ashish Mishra's bail plea rejected

The bail application of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur incident and son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, has been rejected by the CJM Court. Ashish's lawyer Awadhesh Singh had filed a bail application in the court. While the other accused Shekhar Bharti is likely to be sent to police custody for three days.

Eight people, including four farmers, a local journalist, and a BJP worker, were killed in the Lakhimpur violent clash on October 3. Ashish Mishra is the main accused in this case. It is alleged that Ashish Mishra was driving the Thar jeep with which the farmers were crushed. After the matter caught political heat, the police summoned Ashish Mishra for questioning but he did not reach the crime branch office on the first day (Friday). After this, another time was issued, then he appeared the next day on Saturday, and after about 12 hours of interrogation, he was arrested. DIG Upendra Aggarwal informed the media that Ashish Mishra was not cooperating in the investigation. So they are arrested.

The police have passed the notice at the house of accused Ankit Das, who is absconding in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. In the notice, he has been summoned by the SIT with all the evidence. Ankit Das was present at the spot on the day of the incident. The SIT has questioned his driver in the case. The police have pasted the notice at the house of Ankit Das in Hussainganj.
